Have you seen the Lord? Who is He? Who are we? Who are you? Why am I here?
Hebrews 2:6 (NIV) But there is a place where someone has testified: "What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? 7 You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor 8 and put everything under his feet." In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him. 9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. 10 In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering. 11 Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.
1. What is man? What is the son of man that you care for him? Contemplating our existence in the universe. Why am I here? How did I get here?
What was his Conclusion?
2. There is only one true living God. He is the creator. This God over all is mindful of humans. He is thinking about us. His mind is full of us. He has made plans for us. This God that we have discovered is a caring God. He cares for his creation.
3. God made humans a little lower than the angels. He put people in charge of the earth. Man is made with great power over everything. God crowned humans with glory and honor. Humans have been given a position of honor in the creation of God. We have been given responsibility and accountability. He saw that everything wasn’t under our power in the earth.
4. Sin changed God’s design. We disobeyed God so death, disaster, and disease came into the world.
5. V. 9 But we see Jesus who was crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death. He is the ultimate human being. He is the second Adam.
He is crowned with glory and honor. He came to undo what the first Adam did.
He tasted death for everyone. He paid the price of our sin.
He brings many sons to glory. He gives us all the opportunity to know God like Adam and Eve knew Him in the beginning.
He has been made perfect by God.
He is family. He
calls us brothers.
He reaches out to all that we may believe and receive this wonderful gift called salvation. Have you said yes to Jesus? Will you say yes to Him?
