The most common nicknames of college teams come from the animal
world. Eagles and tigers lead the way, followed by cougars, bulldogs, bears, and multitudes
of other ferocious creatures. Trailing the pack, snout to the ground, are the solitary anteaters of the
University of California at Irvine. I wonder; if God gave us "nicknames" based on the characteristics of
our spiritual lives, what would you be called?
Today's Text: Rev.22:1-5,12-14
What is that name written on the fore heads? On this memorial
Day will you remember what is that name?
18. The Redeemer: We belong to the one who has bought us with the
preious blood of the Lamb..
Job 19:25 (KJS) For I know [that] my redeemer liveth, and [that] he
shall stand at the latter [day] upon the earth:
Resurrection and Life:
Because He lives we can face tomorrow..
John 11:25 (KJS) Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the
life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
19. Saviour and Salvation: Do you have salvation.. It is a person. Do
you have Jesus.?
Luke 2:30-32 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast
prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
Son of Man
Matt 8:20 (KJS) And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the
birds of the air [have] nests; but the
Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head.
Son of Righteousness
Shepherd:
Sure Foundaion: What do you depend on to get to heaven.. Without the name
of the sure foundation Jesus you are building your life on sinking sand..?
Isai 28:16 (KJS) Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in
Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone], a sure foundation:
he that believeth shall not make haste.
20. True God:
1Joh 5:20 (KJS) And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given
us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true,
[even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and
eternal life.
Truth: the truth sometimes hurts but we can be sure that it will be helpful..not hurtful:
The elderly countess was very happy with her own chauffeur. He was
courteous, prompt and efficient. The only complaint she had concerned his personal
appearance. One day she said to him diplomatically, "Randall, how frequently do you think one
should shave in order to look neat and proper?"
"Well, madam," said Randall, also trying to be diplomatic, "with a
light beard like yours, I'd say every three or four days would be enough."
John 1:14 (KJS) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The truth is He is God and without him we will not see God..
21. Very Christ: the promised one that would take those held in bondage
of sin and deliver them as Moses was the deliverer
from the bondage of Egypt..the jews and the gentiles could be delivered
from the wages of sin..
Acts 9:22 (KJS) But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded
the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
Vine: as the Vine he assures us that as we are in Him we have all that
we need to grow to bear the massive amounts of fruit that he desires..
John 15:5 (KJS) I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in
me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
22. The Way: He is the Way
Although it was not part of his plan, at Calvary rebellious man constructed a bridge. In crucifying the
Son of God, man had a part in building the "new and living way" to God. Now all of us, whether we are
Greek or Jew, circumcision or uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond or free, can walk together across that
bridge. "For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us."
John 14:6 (KJS) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me. The only way to go to the Father and to Heaven: Someone once argued about the only way by saying that
there are many different ways by which we can travel through life. Think about how many different ways there are to go to the
post office. But, we aren't talking about the way to the post office.. There is only one true God and True Man who can be our
representative . There is only one Vine by which we can derive all that we need to experience true life here and in the future or heaven.
There is only one who is Salvation and Savior of the world. There is only one who is the Resurrection and the life who
proved by his own resurrection from the dead that there is life after death.

the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
