Scripture
Text: Gen.
2:18 (NIV) The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I
will make a helper suitable for him." 19 Now the LORD God had formed out of
the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought
them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each
living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the
livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no
suitable helper was found. 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep
sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs {[21] Or took
part of the man's side} and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the LORD God
made a woman from the rib {[22] Or part} he had taken out of the man, and he
brought her to the man. 23 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and
flesh of my flesh; she shall be called `woman, for she was taken out of
man." 24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be
united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
1.
God made us in his image. You
weren’t an accident.
2.
God made man or Adam to rule over his creation.
3.
God made Eve to give Adam a suitable helper or a companion.
4.
God created the first relationship by creating Eve.
5.
God wants us to join him in creating relationships and the family.
6.
God wants us to become one with one another.
7.
God wants us to become one with Him.
8.
God wants to give you a makeover.
9.
God’s second son, Jesus came to remake all of creation.
10.
God wants to
give you a rebirth. John 3:3
“you must be born again.”
Recognize God is
God! Recognize this is his
creation and his design. We were
created in his image. Let Him give
you a makeover. Let Him give you a
new design for your life, family, church, and community.
Join God in making
the home, family and community. Know
the names. Know the people.
Be known by others. Become
one in the relationship with others.
Be remade by a God
who cares about people who are his own creation.
Give someone a name.
And receive a name from someone else.
What’s in a name? It is who
you are and you are God’s own.
Let God give you a
new name, a new home, a new relationship.
Let Him be your God
of choice.
