May 20, 2007   You Only Live Twice   John 3:16-17

By Ronald E. George Jr. at the Fayetteville High School Baccalaureate Service

John 3:16  "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Do Not seek the treasure Seek the life.  The treasure is in the life that God gives.

James Bond escaped death on numerous occasions, but one day he would die.

Can anyone escape death?   Can anyone find life?

Go off to seek your fortune.  If you had a fortune would you have life?  If you had a fortune would you have happiness?  If you had a fortune would you have satisfaction in this life and in the life to come?

Is there more to this life?  Is there eternal life?  Is there life after death?

Diddle O’dell’s story.  Diddle had lost both legs but he was just as much a man as anyone else.  Life is the physical body, but is in the physical body.

John 10:10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

John 3:3 “You must be born again.”

There is new life in Christ.  The true treasure in life is the Lord and your family and friends.

You can live forever.

Born once die twice.  Born twice die once.

True Graduation comes when you leave this world and go to the next world.  Then you begin to live.

You can live twice with Jesus as your Savior.

How can you know?  He died and rose from the dead.  There is life after death.
