On August 28, 1978 a dream God gave Pastor Eddie Goddard became a reality when Rainelle Christian Academy opened. From a modest beginning with 32 students and a staff of four, Rainelle Christian has seen over 160 young people graduate and many go on to serve the Lord in various careers and areas of Christian service.
As Rainelle Christian enters its 25th year of ministry in our community we wish to recognize those who have had a great impact in its development. Obviously it was the vision and faith of Pastor Goddard that got the ball rolling. His decision to bring Bro. J.D. Surbaugh was also an indication that God was in the ministry of R.C.A. Bro. Surbaugh came and worked tirelessly, serving simultaneously as 3rd and 4th grade teacher and administrator in the early years, and today the school still bears the marks of his dedication. We want to recognize the many teachers and staff members who have dedicated their lives to serve the Lord here and, then a special thanks to the members of Sewell Valley Baptist Church who have gave financially, physically, and spiritually that the school might be an honor and glory to the Lord Jesus Christ.
In 1986 Rainelle Christian saw its first graduating class walk across the platform to receive their diplomas. Since that time God has blessed us with a host of graduates who have gone on to colleges all over the country and have taken their places as productive Christians in both secular and Christian work. When we look at the miracle of Rainelle Christian Academy we can say only one thing:
To God be the glory! Great things He has done!!
